Ampac Water Systems

Commercial RO Systems

Commercial reverse osmosis systems from AMPAC Water Systems run from 100 to 6,000 gallons per day. They serve restaurants, hotels, clinics, offices, car washes, laboratories and light manufacturing. Every model below is built in Woods Cross, Utah, and shipped or installed by the people who assemble it. Capacities and sizing guidance follow.

Two specials sit alongside the standard range: the AP3000-LX-ALK adds alkaline remineralization after the membrane, and the AP3000-SM is built for water store and vending operations. Feeding from a salty or high-TDS source instead? Start with the brackish 500 GPD system or the brackish RO range.

How to pick a size

Size on peak demand, not on the daily total. A restaurant that uses 300 gallons across a 4-hour dinner service needs more instantaneous output than its daily average suggests, unless a storage tank covers the gap. Three numbers decide it:

  • Peak-hour demand. The busiest hour, not the 24-hour average.
  • Feed water quality. Hardness and TDS set the pretreatment and how hard the system works. On the Wasatch Front, feed water runs 10 to 18 grains per gallon, which is very hard: see water treatment in Utah.
  • Required purity. Drinking water, coffee, boiler feed and lab water are not the same specification.

Run the numbers yourself with the RO system calculators, or send a water analysis and daily demand and the engineering team will size it against your actual conditions.

Pretreatment is what makes it last

Most premature membrane failure traces back to pretreatment that should have caught something. Hard water scales membranes, chlorine damages them, and sediment fouls them. A commercial system on hard Utah feed water usually needs softening or antiscalant dosing plus carbon filtration ahead of the membranes. Plan for sediment filtration, membrane replacement on a 2 to 5 year cycle, and monthly checks of feed pressure, recovery and permeate TDS.

Bigger, or a different application?

These are quoted rather than priced off the shelf, because the right size depends on your feed water. Call (385) 530-1026 or request a quote, and AMPAC installs and services systems on site anywhere in Utah.
